Thurgood Marshall Lifetime Leadership Award

 

The 106th Mayor of New York City, from 1990 to 1993. He was the first and, to date, only African American to hold that office. Before entering politics, Dinkins served in the US Marine Corps, graduated cum laude from Howard University, and received a law degree from Brooklyn Law School.  He serves on the boards of the New York City Global Partners, the Children's Health Fund (CHF), the Association to Benefit Children and the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund (NMCF).

Dr. Mary Seacole Lifetime Achievement Award

In 1972, Ms. Lewis opened Le Grand Hotel, the first clothing store in SoHo. For over 57 years, she enjoyed serving a clientele of professional and business women from all over the world. In 1987, Ms. Lewis moved to Jamaica, WI, to create, build, and open Jackieís on the Reef, the first Sanctuary Guesthouse and Wellness Spa in Negril, Jamaica, WI, featuring holistic strategies to improve oneís life from the perspective of mind, body, and spirit.

Cody Cares for Kids, Inc. (CodyCares) a 501(c)(3) founded in 2000, provides educational & mental-health-counseling services primarily to teens and young adults called Life Advisement. Its organizational goal is to provide youth participants with the tools and resources necessary to become successful, emotionally healthy, conscientious, and responsible adults.

 

American Foundation for the University of the West Indies sources and administers private donations, philanthropic efforts and strategic alliances with American corporations, foundations, alumni and other organizations, primarily to provide scholarships, support academic programs and facilitate development projects for . 16 member countries of Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & The Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago.

Redeemed Outreach Ministries - The mission of Redeemed Outreach Ministries, Inc. is to enhance the self-worth and quality of life of women and girls surviving sexual assault, domestic violence, and those formerly incarcerated.

African Community Organizations of Staten Island - The mission of the African Community Organizations of Staten Island (ACOSI) is to bring together African leaders on Staten Island on common agendas to collaborate programs and share resources.

 

Staten Island Liberian Community Association - The mission of the Staten Island Liberian Community Association (SILCA) is to promote unity, harmony, understanding, and cooperation among all Liberians in the diaspora.  To seek and secure social and economic services and opportunities, and to empower our members.
